Tuesday September 20 - Thursday September 22, 2016

Gr 4-6 Recap
Over the last few days students have continued to engage in cooperative games. Focus has been placed on safety, inclusion, fair play and etiquette. Some of the activities students participated in were : Reverse Bench ball, Hold the rope relay and Battle Royale. Check out some of the students in action below:





Grade 7 Recap
Students have explored different types of volleyball passes including the bump/forearm pass as well as the volley/overhand pass(as seen in the pictures below). Students have been involved in various mini games that have given them the opportunity to learn and refine movement skills. Students have also been providing one another with constructive feedback during activities and will be working on underhand serving as the week comes to a close.




Grade 8 Recap
In the last couple of days students have been practicing their chest pass and bounce pass techniques. Today students were introduced to the foul shot and lay up. Students will have opportunities to refine their skills in the days to come. Next week students will begin to learn about the importance of leadership and communication systems within the game of basketball. Here are some of the students in action:


Grade 10 Recap
Students have continued to develop and refine throwing and catching skills as well as spatial awareness when running specific passing patterns.In the following lessons defensive positioning will be a focus. Here are some of the students practicing horizontal runs into space while applying spatial awareness.


Grade 11 Recap
Students have been refining their throwing and catching skills during their Flag football portion of their unit. In class, we have been reinforcing the importance of communication systems during drills and gameplay. In the next lessons we will be discussing the importance of the knowledge of movement skills and strategies as well as leadership within a team setting. Team affiliation will also be a main focus in the week to come. Here are some of the students warming up and then enjoying a game of Borden Ball.
