HOMEROOMS COMPETED IN A GAME OF RIVERBOAT TUESDAY MORNING WITH MR PALUMBO'S HOMEROOM COMING OUT VICTORIOUS AND EARNING 5 HOMEROOM POINTS

Grade 4/5/6
Grade 4's have been engaging in cooperatives games such as 'Island Travel' , 'The Human Knot' and '4 corners'. In these activities students been required to use their communication skills to help their teams develop strategies during gameplay, ultimately enhancing interpersonal skills. Here are some of the students in action:




Grade 7
Grade 7 students have been introduced to the sport of volleyball. Today students began learning about the forearm pass/bump technique and had the opportunity to start working on passing the volleyball using a bump pass.

Grade 8 
Grade 8's have been introduced to the sport of basketball. Today, students learned about ball control skills as well as offensive and defensive positioning while in movement. Here are some of the students in action:


Grade 9 
Grade 9's have been introduced to their unit of Flag Football. Students began to develop an awareness of how to move into and create space. They also had the opportunity to begin to develop offensive and defensive positioning in small sided games and tactics within a group game of 'capture the flag'.

Grade 10
Grade 10 students have been introduced to their unit on Territory and Invasion games. In our first lesson students began to develop movement skills and strategies such as how to attack and defend in small space. They also had the opportunity to begin to develop their analytical skills and create tactical solutions during a group activity of 'capture the flag'. Students completed their lesson by learning the proper football grip. followed by the phases of movement while throwing the ball:
