GRADE 5
In the last couple of days, students have been engaged in icebreaker activities to get to know one another. Today grade 5 students had the opportunity to learn more about Mr. Slyk in an activity related to 'Point of view'. Students examined pictures posted on the wall and tried to understand the meaning behind each picture as it related to me.
GRADE 6
Today students took part in another icebreaker activity known as 'Take a Stand'. Students were presented with two ideas/concepts and had to choose which one they preferred and then explain why that was their choice. For example, students might have been asked whether they would prefer living in the city or the country. They then chose a side and explained why they choose that specific direction.
Students then began to co-create class rules that will be discussed further on Monday
GRADE 4
Today students engaged in an icebreaker activity named 'People Bingo' to try and learn more about their peers in class. Students had a blast walking around and asking each other questions. This type of communication will be beneficial when they are assigned to teams during class. Take a look at students play some bingo below:
