Grade 1's & 2's

  • The grade 1's and 2's engaging in a cooperative game of "Electric Fence". This activity helped students develop their communication, collaboration and gross motor skills.

  • Students had a great time playing a game of "Sharks and Lifeguards". Students had to communicate with the 'lifeguards' before the 'sharks' pulled them into the ocean(under the parachute)

  • Students had a fun time playing a real life version of "Hungry, Hungry, Hippos". Using gross and fine motor skills students had to scoot down the gym , collect their food(tennis balls) and then return to their line before performing an 'over under' relay. Then the last person in each line attempted to toss the ball into a bin located in their corner of the gym.

  • Students really enjoyed this cooperative activity of "Whistle Mixer". Students had to use their listening skills to form groups based on how many times the whistle was blown. They were later challenged to form their bodies into shapes with group members. If they didn't find a group to be apart of, they performed 10 jumping jacks before re-entering the activity.

Grade 3 - 6

  • The grade 5's & 6's had a lot of fun engaging in a cooperative game of "4 Corners Capture the Flag". Students had to communicate and collaborate with team mates while using movement skills and strategies to obtain the opposing teams flags/objects and add them to their own groups pile.

  • The grade 3's & 4's engaging in a cooperative game of "Hoop Pass". Students had to work together and use movement strategies to successfully transfer the hoola hoop to classmates without breaking the link between their hands.

  • Grade 3 & 4's taking part in a fun activity of "Rock, Paper, Scissors Evolution". Students attempted to win games of Rock, Paper Scissors against other students in order to evolve from a egg to chicken, chicken to alligator & alligator to human. House points were later awarded to the winning house members. Great job 3's and 4's.
